Alex Cooper
General Manager
Alex joined AES Equipment Solutions as a Business Manager in 2013, his role evolved to General Manager in 2024 to better align with his capacity to lead the business. His career is defined by strong leadership and mechanical expertise, spanning over 40 years and encompassing both surface and underground mining operations.
He started his career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Wigmore tractor (later branded Westrac) and worked his way up to senior roles such as Maintenance Supervisor at Hammersley Iron, Maintenance Manager at Monadelphous, and Workshop Manager at Macmahon.
Alex’s empathy and connection with people from all backgrounds come from his belief that employees are the company’s best asset.
Mark Mansergh
Finance Manager
Mark joined AES Equipment Solutions in 2017 as a Finance Manager. His role involves overseeing financial reporting and commercial management, while also extending guidance and support to the Operations Administration team.
With 40 years of diverse experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, technology, and business advisory across Europe, USA, and Australasia, Mark brings proven expertise in accounting and finance to the organisation.
Mark holds a degree in Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant qualified in the UK (1979) and Australia (1988). He is also a graduate of the Institute of Directors in Australia.
Jason Paparone
Operations Manager
Jason started at AES Equipment Solutions as a Workshop Manager in 2013 and was promoted to Operations Manager in 2021. He is responsible for all operations at AES, leading diverse sectors of the Hazelmere and Canning Vale workshops.
His career began with Monadelphous, where he was an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic before becoming a Leading Hand, Workshop Supervisor, and Site Maintenance Superintendent. He then worked for Macmahon, managing underground projects, before taking a Site Maintenance Manager position at Carey Mining.
Steve Hall
Business Development Manager
Steve joined AES Equipment Solutions as a Quarantine Supervisor and was subsequently appointed as Business Development Manager in 2013, where he was responsible for overseeing customer relations of all departments. Later, he focused specifically on managing sales and production for our Water Truck and Service Module (WTSM) and Special Builds departments.
He has over 25 years of experience in business development and sales, ranging from roles as a car buyer, recovery driver, wholesale car purchaser to more senior positions. He was also the Quarantine Manager of Freo Cranes.
Nathan Smith
Workshop Manager
Nathan joined AES Equipment Solutions as a Leading Hand in 2022 and was later promoted to Workshop Manager. He runs workshop operations, maintains safety and quality standards, and focuses on achieving target goals.
He began his trade journey as an Apprentice Mechanic with Macmahon in 2009, where he spent 10 years as a Mechanic and Leading Hand after completing his apprenticeship. He also worked as a Contractor for three years to gain more knowledge and enhance his skills.
