Alex Cooper

General Manager

Alex joined AES Equipment Solutions as Business Manager in 2013 before becoming General Manager in 2024. With a career spanning over 40 years in the equipment maintenance, surface mining and underground mining industries, Alex’s extensive experience is reflected in his strategic leadership, mechanical expertise and innovative solutions.

He began his career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Wigmore Tractors (later branded WestTrac), then progressing through the ranks to more senior roles such as Maintenance Supervisor at Hammersley Iron, Maintenance Manager at Monadelphous and Workshop Manager at Macmahon.

Alex firmly believes his team members at AES are the company’s best asset and quality service starts with them. His focus is positive leadership, skill development and strong business acumen.

Mark Mansergh

Finance Manager

Mark commenced as Finance Manager at AES in 2017. Since then, he has been overseeing financial reporting and commercial management while also extending his support to the Operations Administration team. Mark also ensures AES’ compliance with our parent company, NRW Holdings, Group’s policies, procedures and reporting requirements.  

With 40 years of diverse experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance industries, technology and business advisory roles in Europe, USA, and Australasia, Mark has proven expertise in the accounting and business landscape, making him an invaluable part of the AES management team. 

Mark has a degree in Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant qualified in the UK (1979) and Australia (1988). He is also a graduate of the Institute of Directors in Australia. 

Jason Paparone

Operations Manager

Jason has been working at AES Equipment Solutions since 2013, starting as Workshop Manager before being promoted to Operations Manager in 2021. He is responsible for all operations at AES and leads the diverse sectors of the Hazelmere workshop, as well as the special builds at the Canning Vale Facility.

Jason has a strong mechanical and management background. His impressive career began with Monadelphous, where he climbed the professional ladder from Apprentice Heavy-Duty Mechanic to Leading Hand, Workshop Supervisor and Site Maintenance Superintendent. In a later position, he worked for Macmahon, where he managed six underground projects. He then held a position at Carey Mining as a Site Maintenance Manager.

Through Jason’s career progression over the past 25 years, he has built strong integrity and work ethic. He also highly values the efforts of our team at AES, believing they are the starting point for delivering quality services to our stakeholders.

Steve Hall

Business Development Manager

Steve was appointed as AES’s Business Development Manager in 2013 and, since then, has worked with our valued clients across all divisions, including overseeing truck sales and production in the Water Truck and Service Module (WTSM) department. Prior to his promotion, he was our Quarantine Supervisor, whose role encompassed customer relations and retention. 

With over 25 years of experience in different industries and roles, Steve’s competence and knowledge in customer relationship management and business development is noteworthy. His experience ranges from being a car buyer, recovery driver and wholesale car purchaser, to more senior roles as transport/ workshop manager and operations manager. He was also Quarantine Manager of Freo Cranes. 

Steve is committed to further enhancing customer confidence in AES while ensuring maximum value for all stakeholders. 

Nathan Smith

Workshop Manager

Nathan started at AES Equipment Solutions as a Leading Hand in July 2022 and was later promoted to Workshop Manager. His main duties are overseeing the workshop’s day-to-day operations, ensuring safety is maintained and work is carried out to the highest standards at all times and achieving delivery targets and goals.

 

Nathan began his trade journey as an Apprentice Mechanic with Macmahon in 2009. After completing his apprenticeship, he spent 10 years as a mechanic and leading hand. He also worked as a contractor for three years to expand his knowledge and develop his skills.

Believing that people are the company’s most valuable asset, Nathan strives to create an enjoyable and productive environment where everyone has the best chance to succeed.

Stephanie Dickson

HSEQ Advisor

Stephanie joined AES Equipment Solutions as HSEQ Advisor in 2016. She oversees HSEQ compliance and ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 accreditations. She also facilitates the AES HSEQ Management Systems and mentors employees and apprentices on WHS matters.

Stephanie began her career in the Horticultural Trade. Then, to facilitate a career change, she graduated in Legal Studies. She spent considerable time working in Indigenous Land Claims for the State Solicitors Office before transferring to the Department of Public Prosecutions. In 2010, she moved to the Pilbara region and started a career in HSEQ in the mining sector and power generation. After several years on different mines in the Pilbara, she returned to Perth to manage HSEQ for the commercial division of ISS Facility Management.

Stephanie has a Diploma of Work Health and Safety.
